New Podcast Series - 'The Business of Open Source'

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – SpikeSource has started a new podcast series called "The Business of Open Source." The podcast series will feature some of the open source movement's best known and respected visionaries, including Brian Behlendorf, Marten Mickos and Robert "r0ml" Lefkowitz. The first two podcasts, featuring Ray Lane discussing open source business models and Tim O'Reilly discussing the Web 2.0 phenomenon. Additional podcasts will be delivered on a bi-weekly basis through the rest of 2006.

Editors Note: The podcasts are about open source but they are encoded in WMV and MP3 proprietary formats.

SpikeSource encourages all who are curious about the open source revolution, and want to understand the course the movement is taking, to download and listen to these bi-weekly podcasts. The featured guests will talk about how open source software is changing the IT landscape and altering the way software is created, disseminated and consumed. The podcasts will also cover how open source is shaking up old business models to create innovative software and solutions, and how it is opening new markets and delivering solutions to a wide range of end user markets.
